Hubby Finally was Assigned His Own Truck!!

United States

Hubby is finally on his own with his own truck. The downside is that he has been sitting at a truck stop in Pennsylvania since 4:30 yesterday waiting to hear from dispatch to see where he will be heading next. I can't believe that they would let him sit there for so long. With all of the freight that needs to be moved one would think that they would assign a haul to him rather than have him sit and wait. Because of the worry of Covid, he only goes out to the rest area for food, showers, and use the bathroom and laundry facilities. Otherwise he sits in the confinement of the truck. His only entertainment is his phone. He does call and we videochat, but that only occupies a short period of his time. Hopefully he will get assigned a haul soon so he can get on the road and actually make some money. On the upside, he is only 3 1/2 hours from home. If he is doesn't get assigned a haul, he may be able to come home for a short time. That would be lovely considering we haven't seen him in person since November 1st. Waiting to hear from him this morning. Hope you all have a pleasant day!!

Well, that's a good example of good and bad news, isn't it? Does your husband read at all? He must be bored to tears. But it's great that he now has his own truck.

I suggested that he bring a book to read. He laughed. He is not one to read a book.

@JudyEv years ago when he drank a little more than he should have, he did play guitar. Wasn't really good at it though. LOL

@ElusiveButterfly That is so sad that he had to wait and wait and wait. I hope he finally got the truck so he could go on and make some money.

Good that your hubby is now the owner of a truck. he doesn't have to drive somebody else's truck. As time passes by his business will come in line.

It isn't truly a truck that he owns. It belongs to the company he works for. However, it is his truck to drive.

That is wonderful he has his own truck now. I don't understand why they let him sit like that too. My step father was and brother in law is a truck driver. Sometimes they had/have to wait but not that long. Hopefully you'll see him soon

He didn't receive any communication with them until yesterday. Thankfully he decided to come home instead of wait it out at the truck stop.
