On Promises

There's a saying that promises are made to be broken. Were you able to fulfill your promises? We do make promises; for ourselves, people dear to us, and people around us. Regardless of the extent, we have the obligation to honor our words or be able to fulfill what has been promised. However, there are times of failure delivery whatsoever the reasons. This could result frustration from the receiving end and may lead to distrust in spite of the chances if happened one more or most of time.

I don't make unnecessary promises unless I am sure about fulfilling it. And at times when I fail my words, I am quick to apologize. That's the least I can do.

@ZedSmart And it's a courtsey to apologize when we fail. Nothing wrong in that but people don't do that due to pseudo ego

I like to think I honour any promises I make. If I think I might not be able to follow through on a promise, then I don't make it.

I always try my best to honor any promises that I make. I would not try to make promises that I couldn't fulfill. So it really get on my nerves when people don't honor a promises they make to me. That would probably be the last time I believe such person.

I broke a lot of little promises but sometimes I don't really feel sorry like if I feel like canceling a plan. If it's something important, I try as much as possible to keep it.

There are instances that it's tolerable. Like when, it cannot hurt or affect us at some level.

@ZedSmart I agree. Sometimes we really have no choice and we feel sorry not to fulfill one but it's always better to keep our word if it means keeping someone else's trust.
