Mushrooms on a tree trunk

On our late night walk there's a small enclosure that the kids and I stop to play for a while. It's beautifully decorated with plants. At the entrance are 2 tree trunks placed with plant pots on top. I noticed last night that mushrooms were growing out of the trunk! It must be the rain and moisture that made this happen. Looks pretty, but freaked me out when I saw it the first time!!

We get a lot of this sort of fungi growing on the trunks of trees. Some are a very pretty orange colour.

@pitstop I should think they would be. I only eat mushrooms that I buy now.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, actually. We've been having a lot of that lately here, too.

@pitstop Yet I do not think that they would be edible.

Quite interesting. Yet it also looks like, it can give ideas for spooky stories !

@pitstop My writing interests are geared more towards action-thriller ones. Yet I did write a "Friendly Ghost" story in 2017 for a writing contest.

We have plenty of that here. Especially during rainy season. But I am no expert with wild mushrooms. So I don't know which one to pick and which one I shouldn't. So I let Mom do it.

@pitstop yes, quite delicious actually. It's sweeter as it's fresh.
