12 year old boy Tommy Rhomberg who lives in Mount Vernon Iowa who decided to assist persons in his hometown with the help of his mother Amanda Rhomberg to purchase a lathe so Tommy could make baseball bats made out of wood from the damaged trees that came from the storm that hit Mount Vernon in August.
The derecho did not severely damage the Rhomberg home. Tommy was inspired to make wooden baseball bats after a close friend of his had severe damage to his family home since it is Tommy's way of giving back to the community by following his passion of playing baseball.
So far Tommy with the help of his family and friends have made over 100 baseball bats and has donated over $2,500 dollars to charities around his hometown.
I am sure that Tommy and his relatives are going to be blessed by God since He will bless anyone who assist person in need after a natural disaster.

More 12-year-olds should use Tommy as a role model! Have a blessed, safe and healthy Thanksgiving.
