Results of the Doctor appointment: I am down 13 lbs from last June, which was up from last December. I am actually down 3 lbs from last December! woo hoo. Cholesterol is slightly better. Kidney function is good this time. Must have been dehydrated in June. A1c is 6.4, down from 6.7 in June. Goal is to keep it below 7.00. I have had a lot of pain (sciatica I think), since July. Doc says I have three choices: Shot in the joint, physical therapy, or just live with it. She says I have lived with it too long already and so I will consult for physical therapy next Monday. There are things no one can fix for me, but I am glad to have action on those that can be improved. I will go recheck in three months this time and we will see what happens then. All in all a good report, or at least satisfactory.

Sounds like things are moving in the right direction, well done! Hope you can find something to help with the sciatica.

I think I may have to trade my eggs for oatmeal.

@BarBaraPrz Eggs have cholesterol and are considered high in fat. Oatmeal lowers cholesterol due to the type of fiber it is. If I was at my granny's on my mom's side I would have eggs, fat back, red eye gravy, oatmeal and biscuits with any kind of jelly you could think of and (even as a kid) coffee that would dissolve a spoon.
