Is she using her child to get help?

Along the corners of the streets where I pass daily, most of the time I notice a woman standing at one corner under the shade of the ornamental plants grown at the side of restaurant building. She will then knock on windows of private vehicles on stop when light turns red. Back in September, I thought the woman was pregnant because of her bulging stomach. I never noticed her for the past weeks but when she appeared again, there she is carrying a baby while doing the same thing as before. I learned that they are informally settling on the vacant lot nearby. They created tent as shelter which is not noticeable to the passersby because of the thick plants growing and covering the area. Their situation is a sad face of reality and I hope that they will be given an opportunity where they can make a living and a proper shelter. I also hope that they will realize that begging on the streets are not the only solution to survive if they want to. I pity for the baby. And take note, there was another kid with her the other day and a man. It could be one of her children and the man would be her partner.

What a sad situation, I wonder why people go on having kids when they cannot offer them a decent life.

@ZedSmart In many countries, what women need is free birth control pills.

This is a sad situation everywhere. I pity the child. If given a right opportunity, the child might grow up to be somebody someday.

@ZedSmart it's the same cycle. The child might continue the same cycle if it's not broken.

I hope she is safe from doing this. I am not sure what's the reason behind it, but they need to survive the current situation.

@ZedSmart I agree. This is not a good thing to do. I hope the local government can do something about it.

I hope so knowing that we still have the threat from the virus. Wandering around is not safe at all. And the baby? I hope the baby is given proper care and nutrition.

I have seen that kind of situation in Divisoria for the first time in the 90s when I was with my sister early morning traveling going to an Embassy. It was a heartbreaking sight. I gave money to the beggars and was scolded by my sis because the beggars were walking after us.

Not a good sight but at least they're not stealing to survive.

I don't know where you live but when we go to our hometown, we pass by Baclaran area or Roxas Boulevard, I see some women doing this, wiping your car with their cloth or what, asking for.some change.
