My normal routine was disrupted. My daughter wanted to watch Designated Survivor. I said fine. I liked the series but can't remember any more the nitty gritty details. A second viewing would be exciting. Whoooa! What I completely forgot was how long the series was. Twenty-one episodes for the first season alone. That meant my daughter and I literally turned into couch potatoes these past couple of days. I can see my belly pop through my nose without bending my head. Uggggh. To think that I am dieting for Christmas. Sigh. Designated Survivor is well written and well produced. Recommended for viewing.

Oh were you able to finish those 21 episodes? I was thinking about the Survivor the game on TV. But then I read about the "designated" word and realized it is different one. I have not been to any series TV lately and just watching short videos on other interests. I will check this if it catches my interests.

Watched the series when it first came out on netflix. Am a Kiefer Sutherland fan. enjoyed '24' on television way back first decade of the new millennium. 'Designated Survivor' is ultra exciting and believable. Allows one to see what is transpiring inside the White House. Allows one also to see the conspiracy and the coup plans. The series is fiction but a reflection of what is really happening in America. Michigan and North Dakota were cited. Watch the series. Great script.

I think there was a glitch, for I remember responding to the diet thing, saying I made a wrong choice of word, because diet is not in my vocabulary. Neither do I diet, and yes, am particular about my food intake. Over eating and eating sweets are detrimental to my health.

@LadyDuck We have learned to do that also. Filipinos love to eat. Usually, everybody over eats. It's the culture. But with my family, we have veered away from unhealthy food. We don't eat pork nor beef.

I prefer the Korean Version of the series, which only lasted one season. For the US version,I think they cancelled the latest one because it was going out of sync.

I don't ever watch Korean. Sorry I couldn't comment on that. The Designated Survivor was probably written to prod the Americans about what government must be - humane and for the people, in contrast with the incumbent that took away the decency in governance and the highest office of the land. The states mentioned in the series were, in reality, the problem states.

Designated Survivor is a netflix original that came out 2017, I think. The series is everything that is not the current occupant of the White House is. The story includes all issues political, terrorism, diplomacy, biological/chemical warfare, conspiracies, etcetera, while also dwelling on the family and the human person. Exciting in a sense that the series embodies the governance of a nation for the welfare of the people. Highly educational.

Thanks for the recommendation. Is it about how to survive in adverse conditions?

Not exactly adverse conditions because the whole government was detonated, and the designated survivor, an urban planner, had to assume the duties in the highest office of the land.
