Is Your Tree Up as of Yet?

It seems that more and more people are putting up their tree for no other reason than the fact that they are bored to tears. Yes, ours is up too, but it's different this year. The tree is up, we can't find the lights, so they might go amiss this year. I decided to go with the tinsel as that was mom's favorite part of the tree. Next will come the ornaments... which this year are all silver and blue. As of yet... it's not done. Hey, I have all of the month to finish it. This is soooo not me! Actually we alternate trees each year. Last year it was the family tree with all kinds of ornaments that the kids made and all the family photos framed with red bristol board and white lace paper doilies. This year its the formal tree. And all the gifts are in silver paper. Next year lol... wrapping will be whatever you choose... definitely and old fashioned look to the Christmas.

@hate2iron Ours goes up as late as decency allows and comes down as soon as decency permits. I hate the things.

In our house it was always 2 weeks before Christmas. That is going back to when I was a kid, but in our own house... it was like that. This is so different. But then again... that's the same with everything this year isn't it!

@MALUSE Maybe it’s to Germany that I ought to retire.

@MALUSE It’s strange that, reasonably well travelled that I am, I have never been to Germany other than to change planes in Munich and Frankfurt. I must fill this gap in my life.

Our tree goes up every year during the first weekend of December. Not a job I enjoy if I'm being honest.

This year the tree stays in the basement and when it is over, it is taken into hubby's workshop to stay covered for the remainder of the year. Thank heavens for double doors.

Soon we will put a wreath on the door and take out our 2' Christmas tree. Easy peasy.

I do like easy. I guess I'm just not in the mood sad to say. I have to admit that I loved Christmas more when the kids were little. They would get soooo excited.

@Hate2Iron There's only the two of us; and we don't exchange gifts; so we usually aren't "into it" either.

Actually, this year it was up last Friday just because we had some family over and thought why not? The outside was already decorated when we took advantage of some nice weather. Might as well decorate the inside as well. Plus, we are hosting Christmas this year.

I have mine up. I almost always do that right after Thanksgiving. I put up 2 little ones this year and left the big one in its box

We don't celebrate Christmas, but I do enjoy seeing classy looking decorated trees. Silver and blue sounds gorgeous.

We put up our tiny tree a few days after Thanksgiving which is normal for us. It isn't the most extravagant because we have some how lost the decorations that we normally put around the tree, but at least it is something!
