In search of writing time.

Got to rise up midnight, to attend to mylot. Yes, December days are getting shorter and the nights longer. The Christmas air is just around the corner. My daughter has unearthed our old lantern wreaths. We discovered we couldn't afford the ultra-expensive twinkling lanterns marketed nowadays. Maybe old and very '2011' but the red and orange lights have given me delight for the past few nights. Three wreaths in our front porch - for faith, hope, and love. Wish I could write more about my three wreaths but am really in search of writing time. The days are full, the schedules pressing......

We're not done too with our decors. Want to buy a new set of belen (Nativity scene)but no time to go to the city to look for one.

Wish you'd find the time to buy a Belen before the Christmas Star appears a week before Christmas. The Manger Scene is forever centerpiece in my sala, till my daughter came home from London and wrapped and stashed my Belen. Said the Nativity Scene should be special for Christmas. She's decorating it soon with fairy lights. Ha ha. A blessed Advent to you.

@florelway Work is never done in the office. It goes on and on. Just see to it that all the employees are satisfied with their Christmas share and then take that six days for your self. Ora et labora. Prayer and Work. You have done the work. It is time to pray. Misa de Gallo coming up. Complete the novena and one wish in your heart will be granted. Will pray for you because you care for so many.

@eileenleyva been so busy at work. Wish this weekend I can go to the mall. Our HR told me I still have 5 forced leave and 1 special leave left for the year, must utilize them or else it's forfeited. Yesterday I filed my leave application for 6 days and hope I can squeeze my time to do things before Christmas. But still crossing fingers if I can really have those 6 days off with so much work to do before year ends. Blessed Advent too my dear.

And having those older lantern wreaths are enough, to celebrate this beautiful season of the year! I love red/orange lights, better than the other Christmas colors:)

Psychology has it that red and orange covey excitement, warmth and enthusiasm - everything that Christmas is supposed to be. Personally, I love the mix of the red and the orange during the setting of the sun, as if the scene is exuding overwhelming happiness inside my chest.

@kobesbuddy The world needs the cheer. The year has been so depressing. Did you hear that the Christmas Star is appearing a week before Christmas?

Nice you found something that reminds us of Christmas. We have barely decorated our house yet but it is always our old Christmas decorations that we use yearly. We too cannot afford to buy new ones because of this lockdown. We do not want to risk our lives venturing in the malls to buy one.

I have refrained from decorating and lighting up the past decade actually, except 2011 when my daughter wanted cheer from the grueling and traumatizing UP education. We needed the reprieve. But all year long, my manger scene is at the center table in the sala. Sometimes, I would even play with the toy animals and some little plants to make the Belen come alive. Ha ha My daughter wrapped my manger when she arrived home from London, and started to clear the clutter in our small sala. Said she'd bring out the Belen and decorate it with fairy lights. Old Christmas decorations seem to have more meaning for me as the years go by. Cherished memories come with the decors.

@eileenleyva Christmas is indeed the best time of the year. And with the weather cooling now in my State it gives a better feeling. This year has been very bad for everyone all over the globe and everyone is just wishing now that Christmas and the New Year will be good for us.

@mayka123 Sigh, just when I was hoping and praying that the Christmas Star light up our hearts, the bad news reports California is going on a mandatory lockdown. That is where all my siblings live. Leaving everything to our Almighty God's will. Humbly praying and begging.

Home work could really get us preoccupied for hours on end. But hey, the Christmas Star is appearing again after eight hundred years. That's the sign for us to really prepare for a special Christmas celebration. This year's has been so depressing. The hope and cheer that Christmas brings could somehow dispel the feeling of melancholy. Time to unpack the trimmings and decorate the home. I love Christmas.

I'm too lazy to bring out the christmas decorations. for as long as the puppies are around, it's gonna keep me distracted. Maybe I could make time today. That reminds me, maybe it's time to replace those lantern bulbs.

We all need cheer this Advent and Christmas, to shoo away the depressing that was the pandemia. Giddy yup and change the bulbs, the lights will uplift the spirit.

That is, unfortunately, true. To think that lanterns should be affordable as we all need to decorate and light up. The first lantern was free, and the shepherds marveled at the sight.

It may be am old wreath but it is still beautiful because it is a reminder of a celebration or the birthday of Christ. Christmas celebration is not the same as before because of the pandemic but let us still make it memorable with our loved ones.

My family is composed of my two grown-up girls and I. Christmas is always celebrated with just the three of us. The original Christmas was composed also of three people - Papa Joseph, Mama Mary, and Baby Jesus - with the animals warming the Holy Trio - till the shepherds invaded the their privacy.
