An Ice Cream Man

In every part of the world, they do have ice cream men. It is obvious to sell flavored ice cream to all types of people. I am not sure if you had seen or bought them on the streets. When I was a young child, I loved seeing an ice cream man on the street, have ice cream in a cone, and the same thing with other childhood friends. The ice cream peddlers cannot be seen now because of this pandemic. I am traveling back in the past. It is a moment of tripping the memory lane. Are you having the moment of reminiscing things in the past? Image Credit: thefatkidinside.com

Mobile ice cream trucks don't come around often. Never have in all the time I've lived here. However, this pandemic hasn't stopped local food trucks from posting up in the church field near my house. But, the huge black fence will.

Honestly, I only saw the ice cream trucks on TV and in movies. We are really affected by this pandemic.

@Shavkat Yeah, I know. In more ways than we could imagine.

Back in the days, there's always a guy carrying ice cream tank on his motorcycle. He'll honk as he came around and we'll wait for him to turn around to buy ice cream from him. These days, the ice cream guy is a rarity. I no longer see one around my area. We just buy ice cream from the stores near my house.

I must admit that they cannot be seen in my city. I only see them in the lowland areas. During my childhood years, I used to have them and meet the peddlers in my granny's province before.

That is a recent post I placed on facebook - Mamang Sorbetero. But he has a new silver steel for his 'dirty ice cream'. Sorry I couldn't add the image here. I love dirty ice cream, especially the quezo and ube mix.

@prinzcy It goes with the street food as compared to kiosk ice cream. Coined back in the 70's, I think, with the onset of a giant ice cream factory.

@eileenleyva I like them between a bun. I really miss having them in my system. It's only a few ice cream peddlers here in my city. Most of the time, they can be seen in Burnham Park.

We have something similar here. We called it 'es tontong'. The cheapest one was with cone. But they also served it with bread. I haven't seen them for very long time.

This kind of selling of ice cream on the streets is the heart and soul; of our countries. I agree they are not that pricey as compared to brand ones.

We have ice-cream vans which drive around the streets playing a particular tune. All the kids come running out to buy ice-creams.

I had seen them on TV. Our local ice cream peddlers are using carts.
