Pearl Harbor, Angela Lansbury, Christmas

79 years ago the "...date which will live in infamy." took place and, yet, today there is very little mention anywhere let alone in posts on the Internet. December 7, 1941, started the change of the world as we knew it then and that became the world as we know it now. In 1925 a lady was born who would introduce a new song on Broadway in 1966 that we certainly need today in 2020--like Angela Lansbury says/sings as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb9OVjlEZho https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LNGcE8snjs

I’ve been listening to the radios broadcasts that have been archived and are available on You Tube. I was stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1983-84, and I couldn’t bring myself to go to the Arizona. It was heartbreaking enough when I had to ferry to Ford Island and saw the oil floating on the water.

I did not know that it was Angela Lansbury's birthday, but I remember the "Infamy Speech" delivered by United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 8th of December, the day after Pearl Harbor.

@GreatMartin I was not born yet, I remember the silence in my home when JFK was assassinated, I was a teenager at that time.

@LadyDuck I have had so many 'events' happen in my lifetime--happily some, like the moon walk, are good ones but way too many downers!!

When I lived in the former Canal Zone in Panama, the Southern Command Network (SCN) would show newsreels on the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. These days as far I know, no network will mention that date in our bistory.

@Deepizzaguy Sad--we have very few veterans from that war still living and not mentioning it is like forgetting them!

Angela Lansbury, is she still living. This is a fascinating picture of her! What I remember reading about her was that she was married for 60 years or more! Darn good for Hollywood!
