Did you get your pension this month?

I heard from so many seniors that mom friends with that their pension would get doubled this month. I envy them sometimes because not every one get their social security processed, a while back some one complained on the radio show. To be honest, I'd wished to die early and not grow old. Because I know I won't be having any pension. I was trying to have it processed 10 months ago when the quarantine happened. I didn't get a chance to contribute for a long time. But then the news talked about how corrupt social security is.. Enjoy your pension if you have one, spent it wisely.

They changed the schedule of payment since last month. Those having their birthdays from 1 to the 15th get their pension on the first day of the month while those whose birthdays are from 16 to 31 get their pension on the 16th. It has been delayed for a day though the past 2 months because the pension credits from SSS passes through DBP and from there, it is transferred to the final depository bank of the pensioner. The pensioner’s bank should be a member of the PESO NET electronic transfer facility.

Hello @sunrisefan Not every body gets it from the same bank, others have been assign to different banks such as landbanks, Union and even china bank to get their pension. It's better not to get it online so you wouldn't get hacked.

@Letranknight2015 Yes not everybody gets from the same bank but DBP transfers the funds to the particular bank of the pensioner. That is why it gets delayed because it passes through a third party which is DBP. If you don't want it online you don't have a choice anymore because they have stopped paying pension by check.

Is this SSS? I had a little contribution there when I worked in private. I didnt continue it though. My stepdad is receiving some there and he is happy for it. Maybe you can go to their office to have yours computed so you can take the next step.

I get SSDI and no, I didn't get an increase. I'm hoping to get one come January, and god I'd love to have it doubled, but not holding my breath.

@Letranknight2015 The way social security works, you get an increce in January for the year. I've heard I should get one, but it won't be double what I'm getting now. Wish it was, though.

I didn't work for government so no pension for me. My husband might get it since he works for government. But there's bad issue lately about pension (same case : corruption)

No one should rely on any social net to get what they need in retirement. People should be spending wisely, saving even more wisely. investing brilliantly, and be able to get to their retirement years as millionaires.

Hello @porwest Some of them have paid their social security their entire working life, or their husbands when they were still alive. Their not millionaires but the pension helps with their monthly expenses.

@Letranknight2015 But, at least in the U.S., social security was NEVER intended to be a pension. It is a supplement. And if anyone thought social security would be enough to cover expenses, especially considering they send out annual statements as to what you will actually get... They are fools.
