Its A Ghost Town Here, really quiet.

I am not sure of the rules. I know curfew is at 10. My sister tried explaining it to me and think get the jest of it. Its like in March no bars or sit down restaurants can be open. Sit down can as long as you have a plan to let know one eat there. Bars are toasted, bad word, done, bad word, last call, bad word, oh this will go on forever, no bars, all bars even cop bars not allowed. Grocery stores and convenient stores about all is allowed. I ran to the bank last night and it was so dead for a Friday. No one even played music really loud, no house parties, think people finally taking this Covid seriously. Either that have no money because no jobs. Its what I would say kind of a scary quiet. Even March was not that quiet on a Friday. Maybe the deer will come out and play, actually coyotes been going nuts at night, starting to think they plotting to take over town.

I have the feeling of a ghost town when I go out, only the grocery stores are open. The wild animals are thinking that finally the humans are giving them back their world.

Yeah they like when there no humans taking up all their land, but they do like when humans are careless with their food bits.

@LadyDuck I am not sure anyone gives them food its just careless and coyotes are the biggest opportunists ever. What makes they so sneaky smart and why they can co exist with humans without humans even knowing it.

I wish it were quieter here, but it really isn't. Restaurants here are open only for take out and delivery (no indoor or outdoor eating), and I think salons are closed again? But otherwise people are going about their holiday shopping or whatever, so it's actually a tad crazier. There is supposed to be NO gatherings, but I see that my next door neighbor is having her girls only party tonight . . . we closed all the windows on that side of our house. I would welcome the deer and coyotes - they seem to have better sense than people do . . . when they see people, they run .

@crossbones27 We are supposed to have no gatherings here at all. They didn't make that clear enough throughout the year, so people have been gathering more and more. So now they say no gatherings at all (and "we" haven't). We have heard our neighbors have their backyard parties - they were loud as well as their music. But at least they stopped at a decent hour (unlike how it would be normally) - not sure if the curfew did it. So you get deer out there? No deer here, but we get the occasional coyotes - not in our area but nearer the hills. Coyotes can get brave!

@much2say I have not heard of no gatherings but maybe they changed it? I heard LA country is the most strict as far covid because they getting hit so hard. I have never seen a deer here or a bear or mountain lion, just coyotes like you. Forrest Falls is last time I saw a bear over 20 years ago but them and mountain lionss usually do not come down this far.

We have one neighbor but they not that bad , they do not even play music just drink get a bit loud as their voice carry, but no harm. My brother and sister have no tolerance for such things and maybe social distance but they did say 10 or less and most I ever see is 5 or 6.. They do it all the time but not this weekend and they home. Yes coyotes are so fun to watch when in their natural environment, they so good dogs miss them 90 percent of the time.

I think the lack of money is starting to take its toll on those who've been out of work. Govornment assistance has ended for a lot of places, and people are starting to get evicted from their homes for non-payment of rent or mortgage. Businesses that can be open, aren't getting as much business. And, you know bars do most of their business after dark, when most people are getting off work. So, those could pay a role in the quiet.

@crossbones27 I doubt people's views on the virus itself, have changed. But, the free ride is what's going to hurt them more than the virus will. And, that's what people care about. Paying bills putting food on the table, buying medicine and keeping up with car payments or anything else they may need. I've been hearing stories of people who've been staying home when the government was helping them with the extra unemployment money and stimulus checks. Instead of paying rent or making a house payment, they bought new cars. New toys, and everything in-between. Online shopping has become more popular, too. No one really cares if they get sick. No one cares if they might die. Very few actually care if they could pass any illness onto others. But, when their liveyhood is on the line... they care.

@kaylachan To be fair they have not created a very enjoyably world and sure some of that is the case but people did not get their own home or have kids by being irresponsible, do not get carried away on that because why nothing ever gets fixed right. The poor person taking advantage meanwhile our president just took all our tax dollars to go play another round of golf. In fact he did that and then went and spent all your money on legal crap because election was rigged.

The animals probably think they have free roaming rights to the town now that everyone is inside,

Coyotes love when they get to come out and play, they used to try to sneak by us and every time were so happy. Stupid human and its neat to see them get a bit of what they are supposed to be doing back. This is going to be a rare moment in history and after this doubt will ever see it again.

Wild animals must notice the difference since no one is as usual. Same here. It can get so quiet it's nerve wrecking!
