I live in the very South-West of the Netherlands, in the Province Zeeland. Right on the Belgium border I am surrounded by agricultural land and nature reserve areas. I love to take photos of the nature around me and very often words come to mind when I look at them. This one particular suits well in these hard times. I hope all of you have a shoulder close to you.

I love your photo. Here is one of our native grasstrees which has been given a prop but it's been provided by a human. :)

@TitiaG They're endemic to Australia and used to be called blackboys but that's not PC now - and fair enough.

Doesn't matter who's providing the support. This tree obviously needed one. Never saw or heard about a grasstree. Interesting tree.

A lot of my family originated from Scandinavian countries but somehow ended up in the US. I love taking nature walks. We have a nature preserve nearby that I love walking and taking pictures at. It's one of my favorite things to do with my son. I can't find any of the pictures I've taken offhand but I have several from the spring and the fall. Both seasons are beautiful to get pictures. I also like how calm and quiet it is. It's also a great way to get my son to stop talking for a minute and listen to nature. I am a den leader for his scout group so this is also one of our favorite places to go for den meetings. The boys love learning about nature.
