Rearranging

Earlier I talked about my plans to rearrange my closet. I finished that (though it's by no means complete) and decided to move my desk. First I had to clean my desk off (it wasn't too messy) and then I had to clean parts of the shelf off (because it would be too heavy to move). After that I moved the shelf over and measured my desk. I then moved the hamper of things I need to get rid of and placed my desk where the hamper was. I might measure my big bookcase and see if it will fit against this wall too, but I am kind of doubtful that it will. I don't think it would fit against any other wall either.. maybe I'll eventually get rid of it and replace it with something else? Hmm.. Food for thought. Anyway.. No pictures because well.. brown... Have you completed any household projects lately?

Yes I cleaned off my huge baker's rack, cleaned everything, vacuumed behind it, and put all the collectibles back. I have more to do soon.

Always feel great to get all of that cleaned up and placed back, doesn't it? I've ended up moving my desk again because I measured wrong, but it's fine for me. I'll move my bed and then I'll be completely done.

@CarolDM I don't know about you, but I also find that I get rid of things that were hidden behind other things that way. Like a leather backpack that I will never use is now going in my goodwill pile.

Nope. The only projects I have are shredding, packing up things for Goodwill and making my hubs some tapioca.

Well those are all good tasks. Especially getting rid of some things. Tapioca pudding?

@LindaOHio Ah sounds like a good use for it then. We go through spurts where we don't use milk at all here.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yup. He loves it; and we have a gallon of milk to use up.

Wow, you've been very busy! I have been so busy with work stuff, that my remaining house project is finally setting up our dining table with Christmas / winter decorations. Right now it has become a catch-all for coats, hats, some food, and letters. This weekend, I will finish this. I have to, if I want to make sure that I will have the Christmas dinner set-up that I am envisioning.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I received the same advise. It sounded good in theory, and so doable. But then life happens and I’ll be lucky if I can sit down and have a good meal with my husband, considering that we work in the same company.

I am so much of a "put it off until the last minute person" myself. I've sort of taken the week off of some of my projects which is why I had time to do this. Someone once told me to take a few minutes each day to get household chores done. That way it doesn't feel as daunting.

@Raine38 Right. I recently watched a video of a woman who spent a week being a 1950's housewife. She took us through her day from exercising to cleaning and cooking. She was late getting food on the table and some things just didn't end up being done at all. I don't know how our relatives were able to accomplish so much.

Yes I cleaned off the kitchen table here full of papers as I sit here a lot.

I did that just the other day. It's not completely clean, but it looks a lot better than it did.
