Alas Poor Grandma At Christmas

If there is one Christmas song that can get me chuckling even though it is rather tragic it is by the duo Elmo and Patsy who recorded "Grandma Got Run Over By Reindeer" in 1979. It was always a tradition of mine to play it while I wrapped Christmas presents.
The story goes that Grandma got tipsy with egg nog and stubbornly went out in a snowstorm by herself. There she got trampled by Santa and his reindeer. All I have to say about this song is Where was Rudolph with his nose so bright and could he not see Grandma in all that snow?

I can't get by one year without hearing that song. So far, I haven't and needless to say, so far I haven't heard it. Given my hubby and I get mocked on everything we do, I imagine that I'll hear it saturday.

I never cared for that song, but my dear mother of blessed memory loved it....so I endured it.
