Hi Friends, It seems like more and more things are switching to online, radio stations among them. I know I posted some great number of months back about a local FM station that was helping me get through the pandemic offering a true variety of music and engaging local hosts. I used to enjoy the afternoon show which featured all requests and 2 local hosts , one in particular would banter with me and do music trivia. Well, the station got sold. Boy was I angry about that one. The station continued on at the same call letters, but , according to what I've read - they play "elevator music" now. But happily the hosts are back now with an online station! Soon the show I like will be back! Yay! I like this station because there's Jazz and swing standards played along with classic country, new rock, 80s metal, . You can listen too

Glad the hosts found a way to bring back their beloved radio show. Irronically, one of my favorite radio stations is actually an online station. I haven't listened in a long while, though.

@FayeHazel A little bit of everything. It's a set of stations, actually. I listen to the mix, but there's one deicateded to every genre out there.

@sophie09 "Alas" kind of means the same as - "unfortunately" or "it's a pity" . It's a little bit older word, but I like it

I sure miss the days where radio stations would play classic rock and pop music on the radio.

It's a real bummer when radio stations change their listening format. I remember some NYC stations I listened to changing from Classic Rock to Pop or Easy Listening. And you do wind up enjoying certain hosts. Glad your able to find the hosts online.

@dgobucks226 Wow! Still though! What a populated area! I can't even imagine. Do you go to the city often? Do you have favorite things or places there?

I always have spotify on when I work on the Internet with the list of my favorite 500+ songs--you really expect me to pick ONE?!?!?--playing in the background---right now John Riatt singing "Soliloquy" from "Carousel" (which always moves me to tears!)

@FayeHazel Thank you for sharing the link! I get really annoyed with the radio stations when in the car. I seem to spend more time scanning through the stations than finding any songs to enjoy. And my luck I seem to keep going on them while they chit chat for what seems like forever. I just want to listen to music! Good music!

So welcome! Oh yes. I know what you mean. For regular FM stations (all that my car can pick up) I have 5 favorite stations... but sometimes ALL of them have commercials, or songs I don't like, or too much banter.... What I particularly like about this station is - even if they play something I don't like I know that sooner or later they will play something I do because of the big variety.
