Day 134
Promise 593
2 Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death works in us, but life in you.
Persecution isn’t common in many countries. Yet, where it is common, people don’t know what it’s like not to feel persecuted, distressed, abandoned as they face death every day and hope they live another day.
Paul told the Corinthians they would face trouble, persecution, abandonment, and hardship of every kind because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Yet, in all their hardship, Jesus would never abandon them but would deliver them through His death that His life would live in them.
As Christians, you face persecution. It might not seem obvious because you may not live in a country where everything you do is a test of faith. Yet, you face people who mock your faith, tell you you’re narrow-minded, that there’s more to life than believing in Jesus. Yet, when you stand your ground, Jesus will never abandon you, but give you His life.
You have a hope the world doesn’t see. Don’t let the world suffocate you with their ideals which lead to destruction. Let the love of Jesus Christ permeate your life so people will know you belong to Jesus.
Let’s pray: Father, let Your life flow through me so people will know that no matter what they say or do, I will never lose the hope that lives in me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I have always wondered why God set up his world like this.
Why did God set up creation here like this, so that there is more bad than good, and that the good are always persecuted here by the bad?
Why are the good even amongst the bad here?
Why did God mix them up here like this, the good, with the bad?
I would answer that the strength of love comes out of God's love in us, when we stand amongst the bad, and still shine out with the good.
God wants to test the good, and so he places them with the bad in order to do this.
It is a big thing he has done here, even not excluding his son from this mission too, but the end result will be that the good will really be good, and the pretenders to being good, will be weeded out by this process.

@just4him Yes, it is a great shame, once sin enters, it is indeed like a virus, very hard to eradicate, it seems.
The Bible says that all will be put right at some time, in the future, when Jesus Christ comes again.
