A Short Work Week For Me and Other Gift Updates

Today is my last working day for this week, then tomorrow starts my short Christmas break. After this, I only need to work a couple more days as well, next Monday and Tuesday and then I am off until after the New Year's. Last year, I was off the entire time and I sort of regretted it because there were some stuff that needed my attention that got piled over the following year. It also helps with the emails - so when I get back in January I am hoping that I do not have hundreds of emails to plow through. UPS delivered an important purchase yesterday, and this purchase is high value so the vendor insured it and I have to sign for it. Well, imagine my dismay when I received a notice that they have delivered it and left it by our front door without me signing for it. Thank goodness we have security cameras, but if it starts snowing then the item will get wet and that is not good. This item is a gift for myself, I have been saving up for it for three years - yes it took that long because it is a luxury item and in my book, luxury items should not be paid using my savings. I have to have a separate way to save up for it. Last month, I was able to save the remaining $182 needed to complete it, most of these money came from my side gig for data encoding and Amazon. I also got notification that my gift for my husband will be delivered today. But looks like we will have another delivery from Fedex due to arrive today as well. I tried to ask my husband about it and he denied it, which is suspicious because I know what I bought, and everything is accounted for. I think this is his gift for me. I should hide my excitement.

Yes, thank goodness I was able to wrap things up early at work and raced home. Our neighborhood is relatively safe, but you'll never know. With my luck, I will be the first. And I saved up for this for a long time only to let it be stolen. Well, all's well.

I loved my long vacations when I taught. One season we were able to go away for 13 days not counting flying time. Enjoy your gifts. I’m itching to know what you bought for yourself.

My mom and sister are teachers, and they are definitely looking forward for school breaks in between. This pandemic has altered our schooling and methods of delivery so much.
