For the first time I have seen two red bellied woodpeckers in my backyard. So excited to see these beautiful birds. Got a quick shot of one at the deck feeder earlier. They enjoy the peanuts I put out. Then I saw another one in the pine tree. I quickly made some homemade suet. They like peanut butter. I mixed it with a little oatmeal and added a few nuts. Then smeared it on two trees in the backyard. Did I mention is it only 20 degrees outside. Freezing! The bird bath is frozen. Will try to get it unfrozen later if the temperatures get above freezing. Hoping they will find it and enjoy a good healthy meal.

That's good of you to put food out for the birds. I'm sure they appreciate it on such a cold day.

The birds here are very fussy about suet. One kind I bought they like, another they won't touch. I will have to try peanut butter.

So far no takers here, but maybe they will find it. They love the peanuts for sure.
