Thanks, Lori! Your Tax Dollars At Work! (?)

This morning as I put my recycling bin out for pickup tomorrow I noticed a package sitting on my front porch. It was from the Louisville Metro Health Department.
At this point I give a shout-out to my fellow Louisvillian Lori. Thanks, dear! Want to see what your tax dollars are doing????
The health department sent me, as a poor (ha) COVID sufferer (ha) with no means of getting anything (ha), a “CARE package” of sorts. Inside was a mixture of the necessary and appreciated (an oxygen pulseometer, masks, antibacterial soap) and the “seriously?” (Fruit roll-ups? Does anyone over eight years old even eat those things?).
Included were some quickly-devoured Halloween-sized candy bars (note to LMHD: I could taste that Reese’s cup just fine, thank you!), a fidget spinner (for those long days of isolation
), and a small bottle of hand sanitizer.
You’d also be happy to know, Lori, that the LMHD (or, as I refer to them to my brother, Andy’s Nannies) calls daily to see how I’m doing.
As I’ve said to them, to my doctor, and to y’all, I’ve had worse head colds and much worse bronchitis attacks. I’m thankful to God for that, too; because, while the good news that seldom gets reported is that the recovery rate is between 98 and 99.75%, people are getting seriously ill and dying from this.
I’m thankful to be in the vast majority of mild cases.
Now....shouldn’t they be dishing most of this stuff out to the people who haven’t had a positive test???????

Couple days late for Boxing Day...
Imagine a health department giving out junk food. What's in those pink tins?

I have not heard of that being done here so it is better than Ohio does as far as I know. I do eat fruit roll ups yet. But I make my own.

Excuse me? You’re accusing someone in the government of thinking?

We’re having some heavy wind right now, so I’ll walk out back and throw them in the air. You should get them in a couple of hours.
