Day 140
Promise 599
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV)
People want to reconcile their differences with each other, but often don’t know how, so they keep silent and wounds fester.
Paul told the Corinthians their purpose was reconciliation because God reconciled them back to Himself through Jesus Christ. They then were to be ambassadors of reconciliation to the world because Jesus made them righteous through His death on the cross.
As Christians, God reconciled you back to Himself when you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. You have the same purpose Paul told the Corinthians they had as ambassadors for Christ.
If you go about your daily lives allowing wounds to fester and don’t do anything to reconcile your differences, what are you telling the world? People need to see there is a difference in you or they won’t believe the new life you claim to have is any different from theirs.
God made you righteous through His Son’s death on the cross. Your purpose then is to reconcile your differences with those who hurt you. Forgive so God can forgive you.
Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (KJV)
Forgiveness is the act of reconciliation. It binds wounds and brings people together.
Is there someone you need to forgive? Go to that person and reconcile your differences. Then you will be an ambassador of Christ and people will see the change in you.
Let’s pray: Father, help me forgive and reconcile my differences with those who come against me. Let Your love reign in me so people will know I am Yours. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Forgiving people who wronged us is more difficult than apologizing.
