Cricket Talk: A great series leveling win by India at MCG, Melbourne

A humiliating defeat with worst batting performance. Missing established captain and star player Virat Kohli. Missing great attacking batsman Rohit Sharma. A key successful fast bowler injured and out of action. Plus an Aussie team with bowlers - Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazelwood and Pat Cummins in a terrific form. Yet with a great team work led by captain Ajinkya Rahane, what a superb fightback by Team India. India won by 8 wickets in the second Test match at Melbourne. India needed 70 to win and did that with loss of two wickets - Mayank Agarwal and Pujara. Well done India. The Third match at Sydney would be pretty exciting as the series is tied 1-1. Well, I can't say I'm pleased!! But won't it make for an exciting Third Test? When does it start and will you be able to watch it?

@JudyEv The Third test was planned at Sydney - SCG from 7 Jan - different from the traditional 2nd Jan. Yet I do not know about whether it would be held in Sydney or may be in Melbourne as Sydney had a recent Covid outbreak. I will check in news today. I now imagine you shouting for Aussie captain Tim Paine, Steve Smith and others during the 3rd Test match!!

@JudyEv A good thing for Aussie team (though a big challenge for India! )is the return of David Warner for the next match. He was out of action for some time due to some sprain or injury.

I'm sure I'll be watching bits and pieces at my liquor store. He often has cricket on. He's tried to explain bits and piece of the game to me, but I should really watch for a longer time to "get it."
