I did post a Discussion not long after midnight last night but guessing it got deleted for being too short. So sorry about that! I didn't have time to type much but thought I'd give it another go as I would love to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
My dad went out with someone for his night (they aren't official but I hope it works out as there has been way too many dramas with his ex, which I will talk about another time with you guys). My brother stayed home and while he was having a nap, I did have a....couple....well a few....probably 5 drinks. And I listened to music and danced which I've not done in a long time! I had a blast on my own.
Once midnight hit, I texted, emailed and did a post here to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Then a friend of mine came around just a bit after midnight. Made us some dinner, watched a movie (Rambo: First Blood Part II).
It was a good night. I hope everyone else had a great time and I really hope you all can have a nice 2021! I'm hoping so anyway! 
Sorry to admin for making a short post last night. Between being busy and being a bit tipsy, I wasn't thinking right.

What did you guys get up to? Is it worth asking what your resolutions are for 2021 or is that too cliche to ask that now? Would love to know if you feel like sharing anyway.

Happy New year!
I ate too much and then watch of the rest of town had used far too much money on buying fireworks. My friends cat started off OK, but 15 minutes before midnight she went in hiding under some pillows. I think my horses were just happy, 'cause the other horses stress = all the horses get a lot of food :-)
Having a blast by yourself doesn't sound too bad! I might to that tomorrow.

Poor darling! I can only assume my cat would have done the same. I know she goes off and hides when there is thunder about!

@VivaLaDani13 I'm usually a happy drinker, but I don't get to the "I love you all!" and then lots of crying stage. I just talk more. I already talk a lot, so when I drink, it can get a bit out of hand ;-)

That is fair enough! It's good you're usually a happy drinker. Mine can be all over the place but it's usually due to whatever is going on around me in my life. I used to have a little bit of a drinking problem years ago and during that time it was to try and feel happiness and excitement which I did while drinking because I wasn't getting those feelings much while sober. So during that time it would start off happy and eventually just sit and cry. And then sometimes get happy again. I was hiding it so it was 99% drinking solo.

@LadyDuck I never knew that before! I swear Anna, I see you as a walking Knowledge / History book! You're full of many things I never knew and happy to learn!
I would never wish anyone anything until it was absolutely the correct time. It would bother me (mainly OCD wise) if I did that.

@VivaLaDani13 Some people do not care, in France they get mad if you wish before the time. I am glad I learnt from a friend when we moved there.

The year 2023 has not started well in my end. It was the year that I had more expectations for a breakthrough of my life but so far all is in vain. I am still struggling for almost everything. It's seems getting any job here in my country is very difficult thing ever. However I have thought of immigrating to a different country for such of employment and better life.

Sounds like you had a nice new year celebration. I celebrated with my boyfriend, my sister and niece, her friend and friends daughter. It was a nice evening and we got home about 145 and in bed at 230.

Apart from letting the New Year in and having to put up with the would be musicians that put you trashy music on in the square of which you have no say at all about and it was very loud so you could not hear yourself think.
They decided to call it a day at about nearly three in the morning all the rest was okay thank you an a very Happy New Year to you too.

They do not think about anyone else except themselves just the way it is.
Same as your neighbours I guess.
One was busy talking right almost outside our door for nearly two hours this morning so loud too boy was I glad when he shut up.

@lovinangelsinstead21 oh wow! Doesn't sound very pleasant or relaxing. We have neighbours who have parties or get together's I should say, quite often. And their loud music and singing along with the music can go on til about 3 - 4am and it's annoying! It's more annoying to me that their brains aren't thinking "Oh we should be quiet for the neighbours."

You had a good time and made the most of the happy turn of a new year despite the ongoing travails.
I did not want to go out but spent the time wishing close friends and relatives welcoming the new year and hoping that it would be much better than 2020. We need a release as we have had enough of the uncertainties.
I don't make any resolutions but I keep in mind to make my life better in whatever possible way.
