As I Was Taking Down the Christmas Tree

Just finished a little while ago... it only took me a few days lol. Today is was to pull off the tinsel. And there was GOBS of it!! That was always Mom's favorite part of the tree and she passed that love onto me. Dad never complained lol. There was always tinsel EVERYWHERE lol!! Hubby did the same but he finally gave up this year. We never did find the lights lol, so we went without those. Have to admit that at night, I kind of missed them so next year I plan on buying a new set. And I think that I will stick to white lights. I was planning on returning to colored, but I change my mind. On the other hand, white works for the formal tree but next year will be the family tree with all the kid's ornaments, so maybe I will buy a set of colored for that tree... yeah, I think that I will go with that idea. White every other year for the formal tree and colored for the family tree. So, when it comes to your tree, what makes it special???

I like the lights. I don't use musch in the way of tinsel because cats are usually attracted to that and they should not eat it under any circumstances.

We don't have any pets, but I can see cats being attracted to the strands, especially when they flutter .

@Hate2Iron Yes, they tend to like shiny things.

I just got a pink, one foot tree, and it fell behind my TV stand. I can't reach it!

Oh... lol, I can imagine that happening. My first tree was a foot tall, complete with miniature lights and ornaments. I still have it to this day.

I remember my sisters putting the tinsels out so carefully in the tree. It was a beauty to see, but a mess later on,

My husband hated all the tinsel, but he finally gave up this year and didn't say a thing!!! I did scoop up whatever strands I found on the floor the minute I saw them ;)

Lights. Must have lights of all colors. No tinsel on my tree since I was a kid and we almost lost a Persian cat cause he tried to eat the stuff. Gross and sad at the same time.

We have a teeny 2' artificial tree that has changing lights as it rotates. No other ornaments or decorations on it.

@Hate2Iron We've had it about 10 years. It's so easy just to take it out and plug it in.

The tree itself is a great reminder of our strong family bonding every Christmas season.
