2020 has been a tough year for most of us. Perhaps, tougher than any of the previous years that we had. Guess what... we are still here in 2021 and the struggles that we had will contribute to the success that is yet to come to us. The lessons that we learned in 2020 will be able to help us go through 2021 like a hot knife slices through butter. Ok, blame that last part on the toasts that i had this morning that I have been craving for since last year. December 31, 2020 was last year right, never mind if it was just last week. Here are my 21 lessons for 2021. Never mind if you've read some of these or perhaps all of these before. A reminder is good once in awhile. 1. Do not disclose everything. Save some for yourself. 2. Don’t wish for your problems to easier. Wish yourself to be stronger. 3. Obstacles aren’t there to stop you. They are there to test you on how badly you want your goals. 4. Life is like a computer game. If you meet bad guys, you are on the right track. You think you are done and then the big boss come around and shows you a really hard time. 5. Stop comparing your life with others. You have your own unique story to live out. 6. Be your own biggest fan. Other people will follow suit. Or maybe they won't and you'll realize, you don't need fans or followers, you only need yourself. 7. How much you grow as a person determines how much you grow in other facets of your life - your finances, your relationships and your circle of influence - to name a few. 8. Your environment trumps willpower. Hang out with five successful people, you will be the sixth one. Look at your circle of friends, if they don't inspire you, you have a cage. 9. There is nothing selfish about looking after yourself first. You can't pour from an empty cup. 10. Your self worth determines your net worth. Not the other way around. See yourself deserving to be rich and watch your bank account grow. Never short change yourself. 11. No matter how good you think you are, there is always someone better. Never settle, never brag. Practice humility. 12. No matter how bad you think your situation is, there is always someone worse. Not that it has anything to do with you but best to practice gratitude. 13. Age is never an issue unless you are voting, buying beer, getting married, or trying to get a license. If you are good enough, you are good enough. 14. If you want a happy life, don't. You are not pizza or ice cream. If you do want to try, attach your life to progress and purpose; not acquisition and opinions. 15. When someone says it cannot be done, listen, take pointers but still do it anyway, if you want to. 16. Freedom is not free. It has to be fought for. Metallica said it best, to secure peace is to prepare for war. 17. When you have a choice to be right or to be kind, always choose kindness. Always. 18. Have a hobby. Even Winston Churchill has one. He paints. In his biography, he said that he would have had a nervous breakdown during World War 1 if not for painting. Actually, have three hobbies - one to keep you fit, one you can monetize, and one you just want to do because you just want to. 19. Macro patience, micro speed. 20. Regret is life's poison. Regret nothing. So there you have it. 21 lessons for 2021 Out of the 21 lessons, which one resonates with you?

Number 12 makes sense for me. "No matter how bad you think your situation is, there is always someone worse"

Most I read. Some I heard. Believe me, being a spiritual leader is the last thing on my mind.

6 & 9 - I encourage to have me time. It's good to pamper yourself by putting yourself first. Make it all about you for at least one day, or even one hour.

Agree with you whole-heartedly. So what self-love habits have you been doing for yourself?

@allen0187 Everytime I felt that I'm so poor, I question myself why it's hard for me to get out of this situation. But when I see those people in the streets homeless and begging for food, it's very awakening to me that in spite of all the trials and problems I have, I should be be thankful that I still meet my needs and sleep at the comfort of home.

All of these lessons are worth keeping and can be used as a guide as we go through this year and the years ahead. For this year, I would be using number 9 and number 15 as my guide.
