A happy story of a dog that spent over a year in an animal shelter getting adopted

As you know I have a soft spot for dogs that spent time inside of an animal shelter for over one year that finally find a new owner who adopts a dog and take the pet home for the remainder of his or life.
A mixed Shepherd-Pitbull male dog named Sarge who was inside of the Foothill Animal Rescue in Scottsdale Arizona who spent over 600 days waiting to be adopted by a loving family was bailed out of the shelter on the second day of the 2021 calendar year.
The family who adopted Sarge needed to replace their recently departed dog. When the new owner took a look at Sarge, he knew that the mixed breed pet was going to be happy living with his new owners.
Rule of thumb is that not dogs are mean due to their breed, they are very faithful to their owners who give them the love that they deserve.
It is my pleasure to share good news stories of pets who find happy homes after spending a long time in an animal shelter since we all feel good.

@CarolDM The same thing happened to my late German Shepherd-Black Lab mixed dog named Thunder who was adopted in an animal shelter in Metairie in 1988 and lived 10 years.

That is a wonderful story and glad it had a good ending. When and if I get another cat I am heading to the nearest shelter to adopt

I agree with you since it is nice to see a dog who spent a long time in a shelter now has a new and happy home.
Dogs despite their breed are sweet pets.

My pleasure to share it since Sarge reminds me of my late German Shepherd mix dog named Thunder who was close to being put down in a shelter back in 1988.
