Wanting Some Store Prepared Coffee

Earlier this afternoon, I was craving for some coffee. Sure, we have some coffee at home, but for some reason I want coffee from the store. I don't really care where it will be from - whether at the gas stop or a cafe. But at the same time, I don't want to spend too much on coffee. I know, I'm that weird which is probably why I drive my husband crazy sometimes.
Then I remember I still have my Starbucks card that I received as a stocking stuffer which I have not used. So I went out and got my coffee without paying for it.
It's still cold and gray out, so I did not stay out for long. Back in the day pre-COVID, I would have invited my friend out to have coffee with me. How our lives have changed with this pandemic.

I find it really hard to understand people who buy cups of coffee at £3 each from the shop on our street
And then take it into their houses next door to the shop.
To me that's a waste of money.
Get a whole 200g jar of Kenco for £4 in the same.shop
Buy it, boil a kettle.
Other thing that amazes me is where these people get the money from
They don't work.
Anyway. One day me and Yvonne bought one each and sat in a wee local park to drink it. It wasn't very good and not worth the £6 for the two of them.

Amazon is a good place to buy the stuff that they make their coffee with - I got the white chocolate mocha sauce by the gallon, I got a nespresso machine 2 Black Fridays ago, and I just get a Great Value whipped cream. Tastes the same, and the way I want my coffee usually costs $3.50-$4.00. That's about $1,440 a year just for coffee. So I guess when friends and family want to give me gifts, I am easy - give me scented candles or coffee gift cards.
I noticed that for some, buying expensive coffee is a status symbol. They take pictures of their coffee orders and post it on their social media, like "look at me, I can afford this coffee! I'm living the high life!". But I guess to each their own. I have a tea set for when I want my tea, and I have our kettle and Nespresso machine for brewing coffee. I swear they all taste the same.

@JimBo452020 It is awesome, but lord knows it's not good for us for everyday use because of the sugar content. Just a nice splash here and there for when we deserve that extra kick and extra will-power that only coffee can provide.

I was a bit of a coffee snob
Jura Intensa E10 Machine
Barista Jimbo
But it broke and now it's fresh ground only in a fancy filter machine with a shower head.
Its not the same, but does the job.
White Chocolate Mocha Sauce sounds awesome

I seldom have coffee outside home. It only happens when I go out with friends.

@Raine38 You're right but I was able to do it once with my friends recently.

I still prefer preparing my own coffee. I love our own local brand. But I do go out and buy some drinks from time to time. I love milk tea and I can't do one on my own.

You got free coffee so that's a plus. I like to focus on the good things, and not so much the bad. Or, Itry at least.

When you get coffee from the store it always seems to taste better. My daughter and I will take a ride and get a coffee. She also got a Starbucks gift card in her stocking
