2 cups makes a huge difference

About a month ago, I made rice krispies treats. These are probably the easiest things to make. Well just say when I first made them I added a bag of marshmallows to 6 cups of rice krispies. Everything came out good and I put them in the refrigerator for a few hours. Then I took them out and cut them in squares. I could have used a hacksaw . Just say they were not as easy to cut. To top it all off they were really crunchy to eat. I just made a batch over the weekend and I decided to put 4 cups instead of 6 cups. Then I let them cool on the counter instead of the refrigerator. This time when I cut them in squares, it was a lot better. Then when I took a bite, it was nice and chewy. Even the next day they are still chewy. 2 cups made a difference.

Ah, it's been a while since we've made them. But we've never cooled them in the fridge - I would think that makes a difference in hardness as well. No matter what I'd still eat it .

Yeah, you need to get the ratio just right. I haven't made them in years. I would have to look up how, if I ever get the craving, or just buy some.... lol. Yes cooling on a counter, first is always best. Putting anything hot in a fridge makes it cool far to quickly.

I make Rice Krispies but always let them cool on the counter before cutting them into squares. Never considered putting them in the refridge before cutting. Guess I made the right decision, lol.
