Advice to the country music haters: RUN!!!!! That’s right, it’s time for some cawntree music. So don’t click that link unless you’ve had your shots (or you have your hearing aid turned off), ‘cause just by the name of the artist singing you know it’ll be genuine. The Flame in My Heart - George Jones & Melba Montgomery If you want to know why I love country music, this is a good indication. I know the thought of listening to anything remotely country music-related gives people hives, but I grew up on it, and it spoke to me then. And it speaks to me now. And you just can’t go wrong with the Possum. Or, at least, I can’t. For those new to reading my countdowns: I really, really, really DO love this and AC/DC’s “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.” The Flame in My Heart Written by George Jones and Bernard Spurlock Recorded by George Jones & Melba Montgomery From Sing What’s in Their Hearts, 1963 I’ve learned my lesson:
GOOD SONG FROM GEORGE JONES AND MELBA MONTGOMERY

I like to give you fair warning, because I’m not into intentionally causing anyone pain.

I grew up with country music also, but didn't really like it when I was younger. It wasn't cool to like country music, but over the years, I've learned a few things, grown older, and now love country music, at least some of it.

I listened to the Grand Ole Opry most Saturday nights growing up in Tennessee on WSM in Nashville beginning in the 1940's.

At least you’ve heard of George Jones, although I’m pretty sure you couldn’t name me five GJ songs if I spotted you four.
