Periwinkles need least maintenance and yet they disappear / myLot

I had many colours in periwinkles. They just proliferate on their own and are perennial but I notice some colours have disappeared. I have no explanation for that. Those that I consider exotic are nowhere to be seen. Don't you think sometimes nature bosses around too much?

I guess, in the beginning, it was humans who created/mutated the more unusual colours.
