Recently, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was speaking about the second impeachment of Donald Trump. In his speech he misspoke. He was supposed to say "...senators will have to decide whether Donald John Trump incited the insurrection against the United States.” Instead he said that Trump "incited the erection." He immediately realized his mistake and corrected himself. Anyone can make a blunder when they speak but when a politician does it it probably isn't a good thing. I wonder what was on his mind while he was speaking and how he felt after making this blunder. I noticed that he was actually reading from a piece of paper. Couldn't he remember that line without reading it? It wasn't that difficult to remember.

You have to consider that many members of congress aren't exactly young. Many of them are in their 60s, and 70's. Many need notes to help them remember speeches. Though I am sure he was emberhessed when he realized what he'd spoken.

Weird thing is it seemed like he had trouble reading what was on that paper.
