Crocheted a pillowcase

Two days ago I was feeling the itch to crochet again. If I'm being honest, rarely a day goes by that I'm not crocheting. I crocheted a simple pouch for my crochet hooks and after that wanted to do something more.
I spent a lot of time double crocheting rows for my pillowcase but I looked down and realized the rows were not straight. I was distracted and already beginning to feel the tension that ultimately resulted in a bit of a panic attack.
I sighed and frogged my work. I then decided to just do rows of single crochet. This time my work was straight and even, I was feeling more relaxed. Last night I finished the second panel for the pillow and stitched three sides together before stuffing the pillow inside.
It's not perfect by any means. My tension was different on both panels but I made it work.
I have two more pillows that I can crochet covers for. These were decorative pillows that came with a blanket. Several years ago walmart sold a small fleece blanket with a matching pillow for Christmas. I bought myself three sets.

I can not wait for my yarn from the knitcrate box gets here. The preview I saw was very pretty. It's a shade of purple I don't often see. I'll have to take a picture and share it here.

My mom crocheted when I was a little girl. My grandmother's friend taught her and my aunt, but it was my mom that ran with it and made good money from it.

Thank You. I'm getting more comfortable with some of the more advanced stitches too. When I have more money I plan to buy some things like a yarn needle threader since I have trouble threading the yarn through sometimes. I just don't have a lot of money that isn't going to one thing or another at the moment.

@popciclecold I do think crochet is one of those things becoming popular once more. I love it as a hobby, but maybe one day I'll sell some creations.

I don't think I've seen them in recent years. Last valentine's day they had something similar though.

As do I. I love any shade of purple. I will be receiving yarn in a shade of purple that I have not seen in yarn before. I will take a photo and share it here when I receive it (hopefully tomorrow).

@thelme55 I think it's a cheerful color but it can also be worn for more somber occasions too. It just depend son the shade of purple. It's something that can be easily dressed up or down.

I considered doing alternate rows of front loop only and back loop only but decided to stick with the simple stitch.

@LadyDuck I would like to learn a few more complex stitches. I like the way the popcorn stitch looks for instance.
