I did nothing today & it felt great!

That isn't strictly true. I did lots of things, just not the main thing I do every day. I thought I would get anxious not doing it, but honestly I feel fine. I may take another day away from it or I may get back to it tomorrow. I needed this day off to be honest. Anyone have any recommendations for affordable but great printers?

We all need a break from time to time. We are enjoying a small Brother printer and fax combination.

I've seen that Brother makes printers. That's a great brand for sewing machines but they do well with printers too?

@CarolDM That is great. I did see one of those when i was searching earlier. Do you connect to it wirelessly or is it wired? I'd want one with the option for both.

I'd go crazy if I did nothing. I am one of those strange individuals who can't relax if I do nothing.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I thought that I would be like you. But I am surprising myself. I am not going crazy after all. In fact, I am enjoying doing nothing.

Taking a break is always a good thing. Don't know what your budget is, but I get mine at best buy for well under 100. I pay around 50-60 for them.

I want to pay no more than $80 for a printer if I can help it. That doesn't include the price of ink. I have a printer but I never used it and i think the ink is jammed in there or something. I might look at the media thrift store down the road to see if they have any.

HP is usually what I go for or Canon. I've seen printers that just print labels too, but I would want a versatile one.

I was always an HP guy when I bought printers, but these days I see lots of Lexmark printers everywhere. That has to mean something if I see so many around. When looking for a printer, don't be too worried about prices/brands of the machine. Printers are dirt cheap. It's the ink that gets you. Check out the prices on the various brands of ink cartridges, because you'll end up spending more money on that than you do on the printer.

Ah Lexmark. I kind of forgot about that brand completely. I have seen a few deals lately that provide ink for X amount of time. I know there are ink subscription services out there too. I'll probably sit on this decision for another six months like I usually do.. Unless I find one at the thrift store that seems decent.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Anything I need printed I just print at work. I don't even have a printer at home anymore.

That's probably where I will buy mine. I had a HP printer but it broke. It was wireless but I would rather have a wired one.

We have so many printers here it's not even funny. We really should take them all to goodwill. I'm sure they could be put back in working order, we just don't know how.

Canon knows what they are doing that is for sure. I should have specified that I would be using this for mostly black and white.

I have a color laser printer because we print a good quantity of papers, the ink jet printers cost a lot less, but the price per copy is higher. Anyway a good ink jet printer is the Canon Pixma and it is not very expensive... avoid the HP.

I know Canon is a great brand. I have an HP printer and something happened with the cartridge. It's been so many years I can't remember exactly what.

@ScribbledAdNauseum We always had problems with the HP printers and checking online I have seen that they have a poor rating.

I've had conflicting arguments over HP here. Some say it's not good. I've had HP printers, Lexmark Printers and I think we may even have an old Brother printer. My last HP printer didn't last very long.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Sorry to hear that. I've had extraordinary luck with HP Printers. The last one lasted for over 10 years.
