I have to believe that a Guardian Angel must have looked out for the welfare of 1 14 year old male who was buried under five feet of snow when the child was playing in a snow cave near his home in the Serene Lakes area in California.
The parents of the child called 911 to report that their son was missing when he did not come home after a period of a few hours.
The firefighters and paramedics of the Truckee Fire Department came to the area of the incident where they started to dig in the area where the debris from the roof fell on the child who was rescued after he spent a few hours buried in the snow.
The rescue was a success since the child was alive at the time of the incident since there were no eyewitnesses when the incident happened on Wednesday.
I am sure that the young male will be more careful playing outside of his home near a roof that has snow on top from now on.
The reason I mentioned Guardian Angels is that rescues of anyone trapped in an avalanche for a long period of time does not always have a happy ending.

No, they usually don't. You're right about that. Luck had to have been on his side, and the snow and such fallen just right. It more than likely created a pocket and that's how he managed to survive.

The young boy is very lucky since buried in snow for a few hours usually ends in a tragic ending.

I agree with you on this matter. Better to be lucky than good sometimes.

I'm glad the child was able to be rescued. The outcome could have been tragic.
