2 out of 3 say no

That's right, two out of three groundhogs say no to winter. Both Wiarton Willie and Shubenacadie Sam did not see their shadows this morning, therefore we will have an early spring here in Southern Ontario and Nova Scotia. Apparently, Punxsatawney Phil did see his. Sorry, northeastern US. Edited to add: I forgot about Fred La Marmotte. He didn't see his shadow, either.

Let's see who is the one who is right. It's Candlemas here and the sun is shining, so we should have an early Spring.

Where I lived as a teen, we used to get our throats blessed this day.

@LadyDuck It's been so long, I guess I forgot which day it is. Of course, the churches aren't open, so it doesn't really matter that I misremembered. I always got a severe sore throat the day after.

@BarBaraPrz Tomorrow we have our throat blessed, the 3rd of February, not the 2nd.

That's a nice prediction, now let's wait and see if Mother Nature is in agreeance.

Try saying all those names when you're bladdered! We had a bit of snow earlier but it's just damp now. Daffodils won't be long in flowering though, hopefully.

We've had snow pretty much everyday since last Tuesday, so I don't think I'll be seeing my daffs for a while yet.

@BarBaraPrz sewing a rug, knitting an Afghan, altering some clothes to fit, and you know, uncluttering and organizing the whole house, getting fit.

No shadows found here either. Early spring. Not surprising by how mild it's been.
