I made this nasi goring, or Indonesian fried rice, Thai coleslaw and frozen potato samosas for dinner tonight. The rice was made from leftover rice, and has onions, garlic powder, chili powder, tamarind paste, lemon juice,Korean chili paste,Thai pepper, red bell pepper, chopped carrots, ginger, miso paste, basil, oregano, soy sauce, egg, and peanut butter. The coleslaw has cabbage, red bell pepper,Thai pepper, sesame oil, salad oil, vinegar, onions, garlic, basil, oregano, black pepper, chili powder, lemon juice and peanut butter. The samosas were frozen ones I got from Trinethra, a local Indian grocery in San Jose. They are potato and spicy. It was a very good and nutritious meal. Did you make anything?

That is nice. I just like that some languages have common word or terms. Like Nasi, in one of Philippine dialects, Pampanga, Nasi means rice.

@Aquitaine24 I plan to make Vietnamese spring rolls tomorrow? Have you try it? It's quite healthy and delicious too.

@Aquitaine24 You cook the foot in a pressure cooker until the meat falls off the bone. Apart wou have blck olives and ciik green peas and hard boiled eggs. You cut up the meat (it is rather messy) and put in in a bowl or cake pan. Strain the liquid over it and add the hard boiled eggs cut in 4 pieces, the olives and the peas. I also add mustard but that is optative.

@Aquitaine24 I think we have this here, too. But it is not called samosa. I cannot find the right word for this local dish.

@hereandthere No I have not. But San Jose has many Asian restaurants. On the news they said 10% of people in San Jose have Vietnamese heritage.
