Day 183 Promise 645 Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (KJV) What character traits do you display in your life? Do people know you as a person who understands, empathizes, forgives, has love for others? Or do they see you as the opposite? Paul told the Colossian church to display the same character traits Jesus did. As He forgave them, they were to forgive others. As He was kind and compassionate, they were to do the same. Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (KJV) As Christians, you are to display these character traits at all times. It isn’t easy. However, when you put on the mind of Christ, and humble yourself before others, not becoming their doormat, but submissive to authority, treating others the way you want to be treated, you will display the character traits Paul told the church they were to present to others. You will also display the fruit of the Spirit in your lives. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (KJV) Paul then told them to put on charity, love, which made them complete. 1 Corinthians 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way. 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity (love), I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (love), it profits me nothing. 4 Charity (Love) suffers long, and is kind; charity (love) envies not; charity (love) vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; 6 Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Charity (Love) never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. Love makes you perfect, complete, before Christ Jesus. As He loved you, you are to love others. John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (KJV) Does the love of Jesus live in you? Do those who know you, know your love for them, a love only Jesus can give? Let’s pray: Father. let Your love live in me so the world will know You live in me. Help me display the character traits Jesus displayed and love as He loved. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I guess we should try to have the same mindset as Jesus Christ, always focussed on God, and his will for our life too. I think that the mind consists of two parts. One is linked to the thoughts of the heart, or to God's holy spirit's guidance in us, and the other to our own thoughts, as exist in our brain, and which we think for our self there. We should strive to live in Jesus's mind, by ignoring our own thoughts in the first instance to follow those in our heart's mind first, as they are coming to us from Jesus's mind, the Holy Spirit, and from God.

I agree. We should ignore our thoughts and live with Jesus' thoughts.

@just4him Yes, it's not easy to do at times, but we do need to learn to separate the wheat from the chaff, the sheep from the goats, or our thoughts from Jesus's thoughts in us too.
