Hello and welcome to myLot. Enjoy the site! The first thing you should do is to read the Guideline Rules so that you know what is allowed or not on this site. Read around, Like and Comment as much as you can to make yourself known to the community. Although it's not obligatory, it would be a good idea to add the name of your country to your account page to make your posts more understandable.
This is where you will find out what kinds of behavior are accepted and unaccepted on myLot. When in doubt, remember the Golden Rule!

Same here. It isn't a German custom. It's pushed by business here, too, though. Especially florists and shops selling sweets love it.

@MALUSE Yes, just like new year, the lucky charms and glutinous rice cakes are selling like hot cakes as they say.

Here in India it is being celebrated by the youngsters in recent years and certain section of the society is opposed to it because it is a western influence ??? ... however, no matter what , the trend has given rise to new business ideas and prospects , so , no worries

Valentine's Day yesterday is just like a normal day for me. Nothing special because I'm not in a relationship either. Celebrating with family is the best thing.

We have been married 40 years in Aug so no big celebrations here. I think I will start going for the same ideal gift that I get for Mother's Day-- a new plant or plants of my choice for the garden. This one will be on hold since we have a deep freeze.
