Discounts and gift coupons

I do a lot of online shopping through Amazon and I keep getting gift coupons and discounts. But sadly none of that I can use as most of what is offered are for items I am not interested in.
I wish they just gave me a cash discount not wanting me to buy those items where discounts are offered in which I am not interested. For example they will give me a discount on gas recharge from a company from where I do not buy gas and then there are food items I am not interested - the list is endless.
Are you a 'victim' too?

What's the big idea if one is not interested in those items?

@rakski Those who offer us those discounts should know what we buy from them and accordingly give us gift coupons and discounts

@allknowing they just keep on promoting hoping one out of many will try and use the discount. Win win situation for them, nothing to lose

They send it individually and so getting discounts and gift coupons on items I have not interest is frustrating

It is fine if we are interested in those items that have discounts and gift coupons. Else they should give us cash discounts.

A couple of grocery stores here give coupons when you check out. I never use any of them for that reason. It is always stuff I never buy

Advertizers use this method to promote services and products in an effort to make more money. If you don't, someone will.
