The military has done it again. Staged a putsch in Myanmar, formerly known as Burma.
Of course, any takeover of the government by men-in-uniform spells something sinister. For how can unarmed civilians go toe-to-toe with gun-wielding soldiers.
Defies the purpose by which a soldier stands - to protect the country and the people.
Yet, the military men are up for power and might. For vested interests no doubt.

There has been a lot of unrest in Mynamar since almost two decades ...and military has always played a role , most of the time crushing the citizens rights . The solution can come only when there is scope for communication between the dictators and the citizens

The civil and military conflict has been far longer than that.
The Nobel Peace Prize for 1991 was awarded to Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar (Burma) for her non-violent struggle for democracy and human rights.
Noticed her because my country was on the same boat. We had a lady President Corazon Aquino who courageously fought a dictator.

@kiran8 Her life seems to entail certain sacrifices.
Though I find her stance on the Rohingya Genocide weak and lacking.
