I couldn't recall the circumstance of why I wrote this advice to self but this seems worth sharing.
'When your self esteem is low, just be your self and do not pressure your self about how others are and how they do things. Your worth is on the merits of your own accomplishments, no matter how humble.'

@eileenleyva basically, self love is what gives us self confidence and this translates to others loving us. Accepting oneself is the foundation to others accepting us

That is true. We must learn to love our selves. That is why we take care of our body with proper nutrition and hygiene. We also study to develop the mind. We pray to fill the soul with love. And we act in proper decorum because we need to show our dignity.
Our person is manifested in our being.

There were times when I did imagine my self in a corporate suit. It only takes two seconds for me to shoo the thought away.

@msdivkar I have ultra rich friends as well as sanitary personnel who clean corridors and salesladies who make ends meet each day. Believe me it's the well-off whose brows get crooked when I talk about my little friends. After many years of being me, my elite friends regard me with deep understanding now.

@eileenleyva I can imagine that but not easy to shirk of such thoughts when you see one of your friends well placed that way.

I have almost forgotten about the measuring stick. Thanks for reminding me of the image.
True, we must never ever compare ourselves with others, it is detrimental to the spirit.

That is why I always tell friends never compare themselves with any one. As Desiderata says -
"If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter,
For always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career -
However humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time."
In my circle of friends, we have a crazy, rich Asian, a television actress, a pediatrician, a banker, housewives, etcetera. Yet, when we meet, we are all the same old friends.

That could be just for others because I was always sure of my own self all my life.
Thanks for the positive response.

Correct, We are ourselves. We are friends of our ourselves. We choose our path. We succeed and or fail with our own decision. We are strong when we fight, we are weak when we surrender. We are alone in our journey but we have company in victory.

True. We are who we are. Each person is unique. The lives we lead depends upon our wishes and the choices we make. The fulfillment of our dreams depends upon how we conduct and live our lives.
