A new (old) kind of yarn

Good.. Whatever time of day it is folks! So, I've heard of this type of yarn before but I've never bought it. I'm going to actually share a youtube video instead of a link directly to the yarn because I think most people here will be able to access youtube, but not everyone would be able to access the website for the product itself. loop yarn is a yarn designed for kids. It gets children interested in yarn crafting by allowing them to make pictures or designs with just their fingers. The yarn is made up of loops that you pull one through the other until it forms a picture. The newest type of loop yarn is Sesame Street themed. I thought of @Tina30219 when I came across this yesterday because I thought she could make these for her new grandbaby. It's soft enough that it could be used as a blanket or maybe as part of a play mat. Anyway, here's the link. Did Sesame Street play in your country?

It is an amazing yarn. Years ago I taught high school summer school. One of the things I taught was a creative art class. I had the students making pictures out of yarn. I would have loved to have this year then.

Oh that would have been fun for all the kids. I'm not sure how old this style of yarn is, this design is new but the yarn has been around for at least five or so years.

@HazySue I'm trying to remember if we ever did anything like that in school. Most of my crafting was done at home with my mom and I can't even recall doing a lot of yarn projects. She crocheted though and sold her work, so she understandably hoarded the yarn.

Glad you found something new. Sesame Street was around but I was never a fan.

I watched it as a child. I think (if memory serves) I watched it for longer than the children around me. That might have been partially due to mom though.

Well that is interesting. I really didnt know about differences in types of yarn. I guess I was vaguely aware they existed but since I don't knit, it isn't really on my radar.

I honestly don't know a lot about yarn and I'm a yarn enthusiast. There's all sorts of yarn from t-shirt yarn to yarn that is similar in texture to ribbon. I kind of want to get one of these just to see how much fun they might be to work up.

Yes, they did play in my country My favourite show as a kid. Up to this day I still wonder whether anyone actually pay for the food they ate at the cafe in the show.

That's a good question. It's been a long time since I have seen the show. The youngest children in my family are getting too old for the show.

This is new to me and I'm sure kids would have fun with it. Sesame Street was popular when my children were young and it's amazing that it's still popular. Go Sesame Street!!

I think it's Lion Brand that also has a yarn that's the color of the different characters with a little plushy of the character's head. The same woman who showed these also has the ones with the plushy head.

Something new to inspire your crochet creativity! Cool! Sesame Street plays here; but I was much too old for it.

Yes. I will have to look and see the other designs for this type of yarn. I might just make myself a rug out of it. I'm sure I can find something at the dollar tree to glue to the back of it.

I'm trying to remember if my niece and nephew ever watched that show. I feel certain they must have. What do you think of the yarn?
