Why isn't Merrick Garland already the Attorney General Of The United States? Because he's a Democrat and the Democrats only control the House, Senate and White House. How can you expect them to get anything done with so little power?
But this time, they might just beat the horrible odds stacked so high against them. Merrick Garland finally has a Confirmation Hearing scheduled.
Once he becomes the AG, will he look back while at the same time looking forward? Some pessimists say no---See the quote above for a good example of that line of thinking but keep in mind that the operative word is Usually.

It shouldn't be a big deal, now that the Administration is going to be sane and stable. It was the last Administration that you should have kept up with.
