Online clothes shopping is not for me

My mom forwarded me an email from a clothing store. It's having a huge sale today only. She wants me to shop around and look for things to buy. Light jackets and clothing. For me and for her. I just went to the link and browsed for a few minutes and I am done. I am not enjoying this at all and even find it a bit annoying. I don't mind browsing for stuff in an actual store, even for a long time, but this online browsing is not for me. I am gonna tell her I can't do this. When I shop for clothes I wanna see the stuff in person. Feel it. Look at the contents label. Try it on and look at myself in the mirror. If I like it, and the price is right, I buy it. If I don't like it, I don't buy it. Can't do that with online shopping. Plus, if something doesn't fit after I buy it online I have to deal with returns, which is something I don't wanna do.

I remember when I was younger and there were mail-order catalogs like Sears, and Spiegel and Avon. I enjoyed mail-order shopping. I often bought clothes and rarely returned a product. Online shopping is the "modern form of mail-order shopping". However, I don't shop for clothes much these days.

Shopping online sucks the fun of shopping for me.

@lovebuglena - Well! Nothing really takes the place of going inside the store. My sister and I loved to go downtown and wander around in all of the stores, even if we didn't have money. It was a great way to get out of the house and look at the wonderful things we would buy IF we had the money.

I am not 100% sure as it was in 2016 but I think my two cousins who were in my bridal party bought their dresses from Amazon.

Having to deal with the returns is the worst part. I don't blame you for not wanting to do it online.

@lovebuglena I agree. I won't pay more than $40 if I can get away with it on jackets. I tend to wear hoodies instead of jackets though.

@ScribbledAdNauseum My mom insists that I buy one of the jackets and she will reimburse me for the cost. It's nice of her but I don't want to do that.

Yeah. My mom wanted me to look at Mackage jackets. They are being sold at a pretty big discount. With the discount, prices are $199 and up. I think spending that much on a light jacket is crazy.

There are a few online clothing companies that will send you clothes each month for free to try on. If you like the clothes, you can purchase them and keep them. If you don't like the clothes, you can send them back from of charge. I know Amazon has a service like that too. I don't use it, but I have often thought that it would be a good way for me to try new styles and new types of clothes, because I won't go out and shop for them myself.

@lovebuglena I'm not sure what it is called, but you can look on Amazon and check it out more. Amazon is pretty reputable and generally provides good customer service, so I would trust them with a clothing delivery program.

@moffittjc I've never purchased clothes from Amazon before. Or shoes for that matter.

I didn't know such a service existed. That is a good idea.

I have not had much success with it either.

Most of the time when I had bought something online in the past I had to return it. Once I had to return a pair of sneakers and I actually had to pay around $7 to ship them back.

@lovebuglena I have a few things around here that I should have returned. Wasted my money. Though, a few of my favourite things came from online shops. But I am done with buying clothes that way

@paigea I get that there are more options to choose from online if you shop at a store's website as opposed to going to that same physical store. But I'd rather go to the actual store. A much better shopping experience. And most likely if I buy something online I will have to go back to actual store for returns anyway. At least, glad that's an option. I'd rather do that than ship the stuff back and worry if it will get to where it needs to get and if I will get my money back.

I love online shopping. If it were possible, I'd never set foot in a store again! Sorry it didn't work out for you.

I decided not to order any jackets, even though my mom was gonna reimburse me. I don't feel the need to spend $200 or more on a light jacket.

I always have bad luck when purchasing clothes online. Wrong size and all.

You are one of many. If I went online and tried to buy jeans or pants right now I'd need to get at least 2 different sizes as I have no idea what size I need. And then I'd have to deal with the returns.

I do not buy clothes online. It is sometimes very different from the way you picture it your mind and the actual fit
