In the case of gentle men abused.

My youtube queue showed reports about the legal feud between ex-spouses Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. I indulged viewing because Johnny Depp is not only Jack Sparrow but also Ichabod Crane.
When I first learned of the charges against Depp five years back, I gave the actor the benefit of the doubt. Why? It was out of character.
Court evidences now show that Depp actually was the abused party.
That is easy for me to believe because my friend's brother and my own were also victims of gold-digging creatures who prey on hard-working men for money. Grrrr.

I am glad that it's been found he did nothing. He was also Edward Scissorhands.

I did watch that movie but find it creepy.
Glad also for Johnny Depp to have achieved some peace of mind currently. Now he could resume work.

@ScribbledAdNauseum My daughters like Scissorhands also. But as you say, perhaps old people like me would find it strange.
If I were Depp, I'd just be happy with the adolescent kids. He had a beautiful family.

@eileenleyva It was one of my favorite movies as a kid. As an adult I just find it odd.
Yes, now he can resume work and hopefully he'll learn to be careful who he dates in the future.

Oh wow never knew about that news. I think that there are many of out there but they are just not open to sharing it since it somehow affects their image. Good thing that Johnny Depp was strong enough to prove that he is indeed that aggrieved party in this case. One thing also that many do not want to go out in the open is its hardness to be proven as such

@eileenleyva I see so it was established in the case that the girl has that habit of getting rich guy and dumping them later on to make money.

@rsa101 That seems to be the case. Litigation about Depp's claim that he was purposely maligned in public is postponed for another year due to the pandemia.

Johnny was very much married and a father when he was seduced by Amber and hitched him into marriage, according to one analysis. Lasted a year before the blonde had her eye on Elon Musk and spun to action filing for a divorce.
The actions stand in court.

@lady1993 You did? Wow.
I didn't even know her till my daughter pointed it out to me.
Reports say she couldn't get a lawyer to stand for her defense, Just too bad. Perhaps she'd learn her moral the hard way now.

@eileenleyva I'm glad.
I acutely signed that petition of removing her from the franchise too.
And I heard she even cheated too? And was abusive to one of her past relationships...

The singer Lionel Ritchie (now an American Idol judge) says it took him a long time to finally admit that he was suffering from spousal abuse. He said he did not want the public to know and he also thought they wouldn't believe him. Because? He's the man. FACT: Some women are hellraisers!!

Will check of Richie's story later. But I already believe him.
Yes, there are women who abuse their husbands. I know. Both my brothers know, too. One just live with the abuse and the other chose a sadder recourse.

@cmoneyspinner Truly sad tales of abusive spouses not true to their vows of 'to have and to hold.' Reason enough for couples to really go through the state of friendship, courtship, before jumping to engagement and sealing it with marriage.

@eileenleyva - A guy told me his spouse hit him on the head with a liquor bottle. He says to me: "Those bottles don't break like they do in the movies. They do serious damage." I can't imagine living with someone like that. You could be sleeping peacefully and the person wacks out on you! You wake up, they're yelling and screaming, throwing stuff at you! A lot of times, you don't even know why. Those kind of people are dangerous, You need to run for your life!

Depp was quiet. He tried to convey his fears in silence.
That is the sign of a gentle man.
You are correct.

@rakski His past girlfriends and ex-wife vouched for his gentility.
Mickey Rourke, too. And he challenged Elon Musk, Amber's boy toy, or the other way around, to pick on someone his size. The space shuttle giant reportedly challenged Depp to a duel. Rourke said he could take Musk using his left hand only.
The script gets crazier for audience such as us. Gosh, sometimes being a fan is a stressful thing.
But I empathize with Johnny Depp. Not only is his career at stake, it is his whole being as a person.

It's International Women's Day and strange enough to remember and hail women who fought for women's rights while there are these abusive women who continuously prey on good, gentle men.
Glad your brother found his sweet better-half.
My brother is not as fortunate.
