It's no wonder they thought I was strange!

The other day, before I placed my dollartree.com order, I called around to several of the dollar trees in my area. The conversations went something like this. Me: Good evening, could you tell me if you carry the 72 pack of the larger jenga blocks? Store Associate: Uhm, I.. We have the 36 count?.. Me: No Ma'am, it's the 72 count and they are bigger blocks. Store Associate: No we do not, I'm sorry. Me: Okay, thank you for your time. Have a good evening. Do you see the picture? Well.. The dark brown block is one from a pack I bought at the physical location. The lighter / sandy colored block is one I just received in the mail. They're the same size! No wonder the poor store associates acted so strangely on the phone! In my defense, the yotuube videos show bigger blocks and the people there say they bought them at dollar tree. Maybe it's just all in the angle of the camera, maybe the blocks aren't as big as I had originally thought. They'll work for my purposes though. Has something like this ever happened to you?

Uhm... no... *DE carefully talks to the crazy lady.* I'm glad you received your blocks. Now, when you start gluing them together, make sure you're being careful... we don't want any fingers (or other body parts) to get stuck to the blocks or each other.

Funny you should mention that... I got super glue (because when i was playing with the blocks the other day I did one row Alene's Tacky Glue and the rest with super glue) on my fingers. I rubbed them together to try to get some of the glue off and then stopped. All those movies / shows / real life experiences I've heard of people getting their fingers stuck together.

@DaddyEvil That's exactly what I grabbed. Funny enough, I just stuck my whole finger in the bottle. While it helped get the glue off, it kept my nail polish on.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that's not how you're supposed to use that.

It seems easy to get confused on the phone.

Very true. I'm just glad that I don't mind this mix up. I don't believe dollartree.com allows returns.

@CarolDM This is the first time I've shopped the site and I rarely shop the store itself.

@Tina30219 Yep & maybe I can stop getting ideas. By this rate I am going to have to consider selling some of my creations.

Yep. It's all packed away in freezer bags now so I can store it easier.

What are you going to do with those blocks?

The first thing will be a tiered tray. The second will be some sort of little basket or shelf that I'll prop / hold my surge protector on. It will go between two existing shelves so will have to be small.

Don't wanna go through the hassle of returning anything / finding a way to sell it?

@JimBo452020 Oh trust me, I know. I've just ate the cost more times than I'm willing to admit. Here we can go to kohl's to return amazon products now, that makes that a little easier atleast.

@AngelisaQT Yes, I'll show pictures as / when I work on it. I need to get a few more things. I'll have to wait until I get paid again.

@TheHorse I do a lot of that too, but there are sometimes I go for the cheaper option and end up with buyers remorse. It's also usually the cheaper options where I don't necessarily read the full description or reviews before buying.

Yes, I've bought things without considering the exact size. In the photo it looked big! When it arrived, yow! It was a different size than I'd expected

I'm really angry at myself when I don't read a description carefully enough and then I'm disappointed in what I receive.

Yes, I get that angry feeling too. This time I wasn't angry but surprised. I was a little irritated that these larger quantity boxes of blocks don't have the darker brown ones, but that's okay. i might paint or stain some of these anyway.

You are the person I need to ask! I have never done so, but if you order something on dollartree.com, why do you have to buy 24 of the same item?

@Spontaneo Probably. I do think that their online store is fairly new, maybe the past two years? You might call and ask the dollar tree closest to you if you an order a few of something with them and pick it up when they get their next truck like you can do for grocery stores.

This was the first time I've bought from the website. However, I think it's more cost effective for them to make you buy multiples. You don't have to buy 24 of some items. For instance, I was able to buy six units (six boxes) of the blocks as that was the minimum they'd ship out.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Wouldn't they make more customers if they sold like a typical online store?
