I admit it. I have a serious addiction.
No, it's not pills or alcohol. It's COFFEE!
I am addicted to coffee. There. I said it at last. I have enjoyed my coffee my entire life, ever since my grandfather introduced me to it when I wasn't even 10 years old yet. At first, I wanted cream in it. After a few years, I switched to black. I adored coffee. Had some every morning.
Now, I drink it off and on ALL DAY long. Every day. I love it and it makes me feel happy. I finally admitted my reliance on coffee to my doctor. He laughed. He actually laughed! He said from the research he has read, coffee will not hurt me, and if I enjoyed it, go ahead and drink it. So, my addiction has permission from him.

I was born with a neurological birth defect of my brain. But, in spite of migraines, I didn't know I was born with that defect until I was 31. I am 53 now. My migraines are 24/7/365, and have been like that for years. They are mostly ocular migraines. But, in 1999 in neurologist told me to always keep a pot of coffee brewed and drink coffee throughout the day. This is along with medications and when I cannot get to them.

I suffer from migraines, and coffee really helps. It's the caffiene of course, but I am sure you know that. I would rather drink a cup of coffee than take those so-called migraine meds that have caffiene in them and don't work, not to mention they make me nauseated. I am so sorry yours are so bad, that must be terrible.

@MarieCoyle I hear ya! I have to take upwards of six Excedrin Migraine pills all at once just to have some semblance of relief.

I have also started drinking a lot more coffee during the pandemic. Maybe it's for the endorphin boost!

I have always loved my coffee. I used to make everyones coffee when I was 7 and so yrs old. Even though mom said I was too young to be allowed to drink it she had me always make the coffee.
Of course I would sneak it sips anyways. I was 12 before she said I was old enough

I was doing a facetime with my 2 young grandsons last week. The youngest one interrupted his older brother to say, Grandma, please come soon. We will make you a lot of good coffee! My reputation remains solid as a coffee lover!

Cheers to the doctor for giving you the green light to continue drinking your coffee. Enjoy!
