Have you ever struggles to lose weight?
I have for years, especially now that I have health issues, it is much harder for me because I just cannot be as active as before, for one.
Another thing is, I crave them delicious foods that are not considered to be very healthy for you.
I don't gain much but I do not lose either.
I eat fruits and vegetables too though.

I have always struggled with my weight. I am more active now than I used to be and continue to stay somewhat active. I might slack off from time to time, but it's not for a lack of trying. I just have to remember not to be so hard on myself if I do something that's considered a bad habit.
You'll get there, just pace yourself and try not to be too hard on yourself if you don't reach a goal.

@stephcjh Not a problem. I struggle too. The important thing is I'm happy with what progress I make.

To get started losing weight I cut out almost all carb foods. Potatoes, rice and a lot of breads are very high in those. You could try that.

@stephcjh I didnt miss them as much as I thought I would. We used to eat potatoes almost every day. I just subbed in other vegetables and was fine. I did give myself one day a week to eat anything. But over time I didnt want as much of that stuff. For exercise if you can walk 10 steps to start easy do that. After a few days add a couple. Any type of activity can slowly be increased like that. Just try to do a little bit each hour. It will start to add up fast.

So much so that it's as if I am reading something I wrote. My most recent primary care physician told me that I should strictly eat gluten-free, dairy-free, red meat-free, vegetarian, vegan, or fish-based meals. And, I prefer to do that, because it does help me take and keep weight off. But, it's hard when the person (or people) buying the groceries refuses to listen, and barely buys anything for my dietary needs.

@stephcjh It is. But, it is not only necessary, it is the right thing to do. There are so many good, tasty, nutritious meals that everyone can eat and enjoy, if only the ones who refuse to make the changes for the benefit of their loved one would make the change.
I have always had food sensitivities and allergies. Wheat has always been an issue, but I avoid it so much that tests for Celiac Disease come out negative. My younger half-sister has Celiac Disease. My full-blooded baby brother has ulcerative colitis. Both can segue into Crohn's Disease. One of my late mother's friends (who lived with us) has Crohn's. So, I know about that from her. She was also a registered nurse. My son has his fair share of food sensitivities as well. His body struggles to process pre-packaged food.
After I had my DNA tested, and found my dad's biological family, I learned that on Dad's mother's side, my great-grandmother, great-aunt, (living) cousins had and have similar issues as well. None of us has IBS, but we have all been misdiagnosed with it. One time when I was, that "IBS" turned out to be an ovarian cyst.
