Advance Payment for Astra Zeneca

I tried my best to find what vaccine's brand that my city's officials ordered. According to what I read, it is called Astra Zeneca. It is created by a British-Swedish pharmaceutical company. Guess what? The advance payment is P18 million ($371, 464.02) and it is equivalent to more than 380,000 doses. It seems so pricey for me to have two doses of this vaccine. I cannot figure out how much will it cost per individual since the article did not put it into exact numbers of doses. Is it free to have vaccines in your country? Image Credit: thumbs.dreamstime.com

It seems like this brand of vaccine is better than Sinovac from China.

@Shavkat The first shot only protects 64% it's not a lot compared to Pfizer and Moderna, with the second shot there is a protection of 84%, still below the other two.

How about for the local people? Are they going to pay these companies who ordered vaccines outside your country?

Vaccination is free. Some people don't want to take it though. They fear for side effects. Personally, I don't care for that. I am not a scientist trying to contradict what's in the vaccine. I believe they're making the right decision for it.

That's a good thing to have it for free. For adults like me, we need to pay for the shots.

@CarolDM I agree. But we cannot do anything about it. In the first place, the local government claimed to have no funds.

Honestly I welcome any brand of vaccine our country or our city or province will be able to acquire. They are all effective in controlling or even killing the COVID19 virus. I am even looking forward to the vaccine Fr. Nicanor Austriaco OP Ph. D., S.T.D. is developing for our country.

Our city is also getting Astra-Zeneca, I think that is the brand most cities of the National Capital Region or what we call Metro Manila because cities here have the budget to buy.

@Shavkat I'm not gonna get vaccinated, I don't want to mess with my body, at my age by God's grace I'm strong and have no medical issues whatsoever

@louievill My mom is also thinking this way. What if I had these shots, then I would not be fully functional after.
